It is with great sorrow and grief I want to inform you that a long time resident of the DC Metro Area, unnameda great friend of our community, a leader of our organization, Professor Dr. Mohammad Arozullah passed away in Chicago this morning (Inna..rajeyyn). May Allah place the departed soul in Jannah. Dr. Arozullah was the 3rd President of the Central Executive Committee (CEC) of the American Association of Bangladeshi Engineers and Architects, Inc. (AABEA). He paved the way of working with various non-profit organizations and introducing AABEA to a larger forum. A dedicated and notable person of the community, Dr. Arozullah earned the respect for his deeds from different cross-section of lives including interfaith organizations in the USA. He was involved in organizing the Bangladeshi Islamic Discussion Group that has brought the members of the community together in discussing various problems facing them in living as Muslims in America. His inspirational standards on ethics and benevolent services to the community are respectfully acknowledged and American Association of Bangladeshi Engineers and Architects (AABEA) awarded Dr. Arozullah with the AABEA Silver Jubilee Presidential Award. Dr. Mohammed Arozullah earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 1967. Since then he had been involved in higher education in Canada and the United States. He was a Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. He had served professional organizations, such as Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), American Association of Bangladeshi Engineers and Architects (AABEA) in various capacities. He was a Life Member of IEEE. He had been working with AABEA in various capacities, such as election commissioner, judge and chief judge of AABEA science fairs. He has also served Bangladesh Associations in Washington area as advisor and election commissioner. AABEA community will miss this great soul.
